From a sermon given on 13 November 2022:

And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.
(Joshua 15:14)

And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.
(Joshua 15:16)

In accordance to the Lord's command, Joshua blessed Caleb and gave him Hebron as an inheritance. Hebron was a hill country and was the location of the giants who had terrified the Israelites spies. “Caleb wanted the challenge of driving them out and he believed God would help him."

Caleb successfully drove out from there the three sons of Anak- Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai. Now it was time to go against the inhabitants of Debir formerly called Kiriath - Sepher. And in order to achieve his objective, Caleb made a thrilling offer : "The one who attacks Kiriath - Sepher and captures it I will give him" "Achsah my daughter as a wife" "And Othniel, the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother captured it and so Caleb gave him Achsah his daughter as a wife!"

"Christian friends, isn't it amazing when we witness God accomplishing in our lives what many may consider unsurmountable?" It's not only exciting but thrilling to experience the joy of the Lord as He takes us from one step to the next and from glory to glory. "Our current state is not our conclusion." "Where we are today is not where we will be tomorrow. The best is yet to come!"

Further Readings:

So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
(Exodus 17:10-13)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
(Jeremiah 29:11)

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
(1 Corinthians 2:9)
