From a sermon given on 09 September 2023:

He is like a man which built an house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
(Luke 6:48, 49)

In His analogy of hearers and doers of the Word, Jesus emphasized the need of having a strong foundation during any construction process. This would be a strong assurance that it will stand any test of times.

The foundation is the base and weight carrier of any building. The ground upon which the foundation of any building is laid upon is a major determining factor of its towering height and magnificent skyscraping appearance.

Every person's undertaking in life is a building in progress. This could be but not limited to a business, marriage, ministry call, education, career etc. The foundations of all this undertakings is Paramount and a prerequisite of its success.

It's advisable to lay our foundation on the master builder. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11). This will ensure that we remain towering up when the storms of life strike with rage in an effort to crumble us down into rubble. Many issues in life don't just crumble, things went wrong during the laying of the foundation! It's never too late to invite the master builder - Jesus, to be at the center of all our endeavors.

Further Readings:

Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
(Isaiah 28:16)

Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
(1 Corinthians 3:12-15)

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
(2 Timothy 2:19)
