From a sermon given on 01 January 2023:

In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
(Hebrews 8:13)

By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

Paul was explaining the purpose of Jesus ministry as a superior covenant compared to the old Mosaic one, for it is established on better promises and hence replaced it.

Albeit advanced technological improvement, products are built with a form of obsolescence and depreciation-a feature of a product or part of its design that means it will not last for a long time where it* *becomes old-fashioned, lose value and no longer useful. The new comes with marvel features making consumers abhor the old.

Time is no different, with every lapse, the present makes the past obsolete. The year 2022 has vanished and become outdated save for a few memories left in our mind and behold a new one 2023 has done perfect replacement.

May the features of the new 2023 setting find us prepared in every aspect lest there be difficulties in its operations.

Purpose to replace:-

Old bad habits with new behavior,

Substance abuse with healthy eating,

Religiosity with authentic worship

Over thinking with action,

Influencers with creators,

Unforgiving with love,

Sessile living with physical exercises,

Toxic friends with mentors,

Complaining with gratitude,

Wastage with investing,

Laziness with hard work

For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
(Hebrews 8:7)

Further readings:

And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
(Deuteronomy 31:8)

Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.
(Psalm 65:11)

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
(Isaiah 43:18-19)
