From a sermon given on 14 April 2024:

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile... I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
(Psalm 32:1-2, 5)

Forgiveness doesn't erase pain , but it empowers us to transcend it. It is the key that unlocks the door to emotional liberation, enabling us to experience joy, and love unburdened by the weight of past hurts.

Forgiveness is akin to a soothing balm of the soul, gifting the forgiver with profound inner peace and serenity. When resentment and anger churn within us, our inner world resembles a never - ending storm. However, forgiveness possess the power to quell this tempest. By releasing the grip of toxic emotions, forgiveness invites tranquility and peace into the heart. This inner peace is not subject to external circumstances; it is serene sanctuary within, offering solace even amid life's storms (Thresen Mathew, PhD, MBA - Linkedin)

...This is exactly what happened to David after he received forgiveness. According to him, blessed men and women are those to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity and whose spirit there is no guile. Many people have received forgiveness but still remain unforgiving. Liberating joy comes through receiving and dispensing forgiveness.
